Pre-requisites: This class is open to all levels of learners. Students who have no previous training with the American Bowen Academy will attend the 4-hour, Introduction to Bowen class which will be on the first day. The Intro to Bowenwork class can also be taken with any instructor at any location as long as it has been completed prior to attending the animal Bowenwork course.
Course content includes a step- by- step approach to a basic body balancing protocol with additional procedures to address specific areas of concern including hamstring, shoulders, neck and chest, saddle area, and a first aid procedure for the TMJ for after dental work.
This is a foundation course, providing the fundamentals of Bowenwork for the experienced horse owner/ professional and is not appropriate for the equine novice/ hobbyist. All participants must be proficient in working safely with and around horses. Required skills include haltering, leading, tying and lifting hooves. Recognition and awareness of subtle indicators and warning signs of stress in the horse are imperative for the safety of all animal and human participants. Students will sign a statement acknowledging they meet this requirement as part of the risk management / liability release process. Once registered, you will receive an application packet which includes application, and liability release forms. Your application will be reviewed and once accepted, you will receive class details and instructions for payment options. Class size is limited.
