Andrea has been a practitioner since 2009. She aims to work with the body’s nervous system to make it more balanced and peaceful. She coaches:
1.) Tom Bowen’s 80/20 anti-inflammatory foods contain plenty of water and other enlivening techniques for drinking more good, clean water throughout the day.
2.) The movement of deep breathing in session, walking 20 minutes in the sunshine after a session and each day, and Bowenwork integrative movements after specific procedures.
3.) Waiting in between moves in the calming meditation of a session designed to release stress, working toward a restful night’s sleep for the glymphatic system, and the peaceful assurance that the body can obtain the resources required for self-repair without needing other deep-tissue modalities within five days before/after a session.
4.) What to do in the waiting days can be creative walks, finding purpose, support, love, compassion, humor, play, affirmations, and freedom.

Hi, I’m Doreen Spackman. What is most important to me is family. Our children are grown, so we cherish each moment we have with our grandchildren and our first great-grandchild. I enjoy gardening, hiking, preparing and eating healthy food, using herbs, learning self-empowerment tools, and sharing with others- whether it’s produce from the garden or all of the other learning I have picked up along my journey. I have enjoyed practicing, consulting, and teaching classes on whole body health, for over 30 years, so Bowenwork was a natural fit.
From the first Bowenwork session I received, I knew I wanted to learn and become a practitioner. I started training the following month. Bowenwork complements what I was already doing to assist the body in healing itself. It seemed very natural to continue my training and become an Associate Instructor and now an Instructor. This education allows me to better help clients and others learn simple ways to empower themselves so that when life challenges occur, they can feel confident in taking care of them. I love seeing the excitement in students when they have helped a family member or a friend get relief and enjoy more mobility, health, and vitality.
Learning and sharing Bowenwork has blessed my family in so many ways, from resolving aches and pains to gaining mobility, addressing severe concussions, and many more conditions that have been resolved through the simple Bowenwork moves. Whether it’s the Intro to Wellness class or Modules 1-6, the students I’ve been able to share Bowenwork with are amazing! I continue to look forward to sharing the joy of learning Bowenwork with others!
