I believe that we have been given many tools and advantages to help our bodies return to its divine blue print. There is a balance in utilizing resources and our innate ability to heal. When our bodies are given the correct tools and blocks removed, effective and possible lasting changes can take place.

I am passionate about supporting others in their journey to restoring balance physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My focus is in pain and stress reduction, balance for a healthy body, mind and spirit, and empowering each individual on their unique path and journey.

I am passionate about the opportunities we have to support our health. All the modalities I offer I have personally tried and tested. I have my own personal healing journey from using them and am excited to support others in their journey of wellbeing.

I worked in the medical field for 8 yrs as a nursing and medical assistant. I aspired to become a nurse practitioner and music therapist but my path shifted and I am now a Holistic Health Practitioner and massage therapist. I am currently finishing my Therapeutic Musician training. These definitely “fit” my beliefs and abilities with empowering the client to create balance, peace and physical support.

I love music! I own a music studio and teach as well as play the piano, harp, guitar, ukulele, Indian flute, and sing. I enjoy creating meditation and therapeutic music, writing poetry and have started writing a few books. I love cycling, kayaking, and “zen”ning out in nature by the river, rocks and trees. I love reading, enjoy the humor my children bring and love creating things with wood. I strive to embody Kigatsuku & Kaizen.

Cindy brings her experience in health care both as an occupational and massage therapist to her practice and teaching of Bowenwork. She believes in treating the “whole” person blending her traditional and alternative approaches. After reading a Bowenwork article she was intrigued with the reported results. She went for treatment
and her back pain resolved after two sessions. Cindy was so impressed she became certified. She enjoys helping her patient’s achieve their highest level of health and well being. She believes Bowenwork is the most effective therapy with amazing results.

Cindy’s enthusiasm and passion for Bowenwork comes through in her energetic style of communication and her years of experience as a teacher in a variety of settings. She deepened her understanding of Bowenwork by becoming a Bowenwork instructor. She finds it rewarding to help others learn this healing modality in a warm supportive atmosphere. An overarching life passion of mine has been supporting and guiding others (well, me too!) in experiencing more ease and more joy in life. This passion has been expressed over the years in many roles, from managing a food coop and teaching people about food’s effects on the body and mind, to working with corporate executives leading diversity work (as we called it in those days). In 2003 I founded Turning Light Center teaching Yoga and Meditation. Still looking for more ways to help people break their cycles of pain and limitations and get back to fully living their lives, I trained extensively and certified in Therapeutic Yoga (IAYT). I have also trained in Neurodevelopmental Movement, Somatics, Pranayama (science of breath), Meditation, Ayurveda, and Family Constellations. All of these modalities influence me, helping me “see” and support the whole person.

Then in early 2017 I discovered Bowenwork, fell in love, and immediately started my training, completing my coursework and case studies by the end of the year. I am thrilled to add this to what I offer clients – and they are too! I feel Bowenwork and Yoga Therapy in particular offer a wonderful combination suitable to nearly any body and any needs! I have continued Bowenwork studies of Advanced practices, a fascinating course on Fascia the latest research highlighting Bowen applications. And now I am a certified Wellness Associate (ABA) and can offer “Introductory Bowenwork” to anyone wanting to learn more and then share some wonderful basic Bowenwork with family, friends, and yourself! Clients may choose Bowenwork, Yoga Therapy, MSTR (McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release) or any combination of services.

Starting her career in Bowenwork in 2004, Darleen has attained the highest level of Practitioner accreditation from the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia; having completed training in all Advanced Bowenwork treatments.

Darleen became interested in Bowenwork after seeing a friend who had been suffering from sciatica pain was greatly improved after just one Bowenwork treatment. Further investigation into this Australian-based therapy led her to enroll in the Academy of Bowenwork.

After completion of her training, Darleen practiced at a Naturopathic Clinic in Portland for three years. She saw the powerful impact of Bowenwork on many different injuries and diseases. Bowenwork frequently produced improvements when other conventional therapies had not been effective and without the use of medications. Many people stated they had tried everything to help them and wished they had been aware of Bowenwork earlier.

After practicing massage for many years, a client walked in one day with a brochure. She heard about this thing called Bowen and thought it might be good for her condition. I asked why she didn’t go to the person named on the brochure. She said she wanted me to learn Bowen, so she could come to me.
It was another humbling moment.

In 2007, I began to learn Bowenwork. A new world was opened to me. I am continually grateful to that client for her request. Bowen has helped so many people, through so many hands. It is awe inspiring to me.

I am registered as a Professional Bowenwork Practitioner and am certified in Bowenwork special procedures I & II. In addition to Bowenwork for human beings, I trained in Cat and Canine Muscle Release Therapy, a.k.a. Bowen for small animals with Tina Spurling.

I also teach Taiji and Qigong. I offer Intuitive Readings as well.

Diane chose bodywork as a second career in 1996 due to the encouragement of many others, not knowing it would change her life. Now she enjoys encouraging others along their healing process. Becoming an Associate Instructor was a natural fit.

She is an advanced Bowenwork Practitioner, licensed in Massage, has an AA Degree, is experienced in CranioSacral and as an Occupational Therapy aide working with children. Diane is a life long learner who enjoys teaching and encouraging anyone with a heart to learn.

Bowenwork is an amazing modality and adventure. Diane’s experiences include self care when her car was totaled, assisting in the childbirth of a client, assisting a Purple Heart Soldier after a TBI (traumatic brain injury–going from non-weight bearing and light intolerant to independently walking down a bright, long hospital hallway within 2 weeks of his injury), to the email from a student a few weeks after taking “Wellness in Your Hands” class to say she just wanted to share a “Bowen Moment”.

Diane is a past facilitator of AABP, American Association for Bowenwork Practitioners Washington Chapter.

While honoring the body, encouraging the healing process, and promoting quality of life, Diane has been blessed to work with clients of all ages.
