Starting her career in Bowenwork in 2004, Darleen has attained the highest level of Practitioner accreditation from the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia; having completed training in all Advanced Bowenwork treatments.

Darleen became interested in Bowenwork after seeing a friend who had been suffering from sciatica pain was greatly improved after just one Bowenwork treatment. Further investigation into this Australian-based therapy led her to enroll in the Academy of Bowenwork.

After completion of her training, Darleen practiced at a Naturopathic Clinic in Portland for three years. She saw the powerful impact of Bowenwork on many different injuries and diseases. Bowenwork frequently produced improvements when other conventional therapies had not been effective and without the use of medications. Many people stated they had tried everything to help them and wished they had been aware of Bowenwork earlier.

Hello and welcome! I’m Erin and I’ve been a licensed massage therapist in Oregon since 2001 specializing in deep tissue and injury recovery massage in the private and chiropractic setting. Studying under Cobalt Coy in Portland, OR, I completed my Professional Bowenwork Practitioner Level 1 training in 2020 and am currently continuing my training with the American Bowen Academy. The doctor didn’t know if I’d survive the short drive home. That was in 2006. I needed a new heart. Nine months later, my heart was normal and my body was restoring health. The experience threw me into a study of alternative medicine and a reexamination of my beliefs. It also led me to Dr. Robert J. Rowen’s article on Bowenwork in the “Second Opinion Newsletter”
I took a class and was stunned by the similarities between computer programming and biology. I now use the body as a keyboard to turn on the healing response and help the body resolve problems through its innate healing capacity. I have taken most of the Bowenwork classes and address over 400 needs and issues through light touch.
I added to this by studying pranotherapy, polarity therapy, the body electronic, Pranic Healing, PSYCH-K, crystal therapy, and two dozen other body, mind and spirit modalities. This got so large that I am working on a doctorate in Metaphysical Science and finding new ways light touch can help people feel good and live better.
As co-founder of Wellsong Energetics, I am no longer active with Bowenwork but may make special exceptions. I now focus on preventing chronic disease through the removal of neurotoxins and harmful life forms. We have a unique procedure that requires no office visits. My own journey with Bowenwork began in 2013 with a herniated lumbar disc and horrible sciatic pain. A friend referred me to Darleen Sumner in SE Portland. While it didn’t repair the disc, I have no doubt that Bowenwork helped manage the pain and enabled my body to heal itself! At that time, I was seeking a career change after 14 years as a missionary, and Darleen was starting a training class. I loved it! I quickly completed my training to become a certified practitioner and later went on to be trained as an Associate Instructor of the technique. I now have a thriving Bowenwork practice called Bridge to Healing in Coos Bay, Oregon where I help clients feel their best and teach introductory classes. I am continually amazed by Bowenwork and the body’s ability to heal itself with this gentle encouragement!
