I received a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2003 specializing in medical speech pathology. My specialty was working with people who had suffered a stroke or traumatic brain injury to regain their language, cognitive and swallowing abilities. I loved this work! I am still fascinated by neuroscience but even more so I was continually inspired by people “beating the odds” of their prognosis. To witness someone work so hard in their recovery and see the body respond to achieve independent functioning is an honor. But after 10 years in the hospital setting, I was feeling a pull to be on the preventative/holistic side of wellness. I discovered Bowenwork via a family member’s relief of plantar fasciitis and then I personally experienced the effectiveness for my own TMJ issues. The more I learned and witnessed Bowenwork’s effectiveness in treating a wide range of aliments, it began to change everything I ever learned about healing and recovery! Bowenwork resonated with me in such a way that I decided to change careers to practice and share this wonderful, holistic approach to healing.
