Hi. I’m Maria Lofquist and have been a Bowenwork Therapist since 2007. I would like to thank every client I have treated for their trust in Bowenwork, and in myself as their therapist.
Each person is a unique individual and everyone has their own story and their own journey.
My Bowen journey began with a car accident in 2003 when I was struck from behind by a drunk driver while in line at a red light. As a result I suffered primarily, neck and head injuries that would have me unable to work for several years.
At the time I didn’t know about Bowen, nor was it available in the Minneapolis region where I lived. Instead I did all the usual healing practices: traditional medicine, chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy, massage, cranial-sacral therapy, etc. All of these treatments helped but after all that, I was still not my old self.
I was first introduced to Bowen on a trip back home to New Zealand where my mother, a cardiology technician, had learned the techniques. After just three sessions it was clear to me that I must do what I could to learn Bowenwork and upon my return to the U.S.A. that is exactly what I did.
I consider myself a facilitator to my client’s healing process, rather than a healer, as it is the Bowenwork that activates the body to heal. My job is to push the right buttons in sequence to make that happen and it is never a dull moment figuring out each individuals needs.
I welcome your curiosity to explore what Bowen can do for you and look forward to helping you take the next step in your health and well-being.
With Gratitude,
Maria Lofquist
