Rick Wurster received a Masters of Gerontology from U.S.C. in 1991 and a Masters of Physical Therapy from U.S.C. in 1993. He has extensive experience in clinical practice including management of a 15 unit regional rehabilitation center, providing teaching and training of therapists on the proper care of chronically ill and geriatric patients.He is also recognized by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America to provide expertise training of physiological self-regulation including the use of Surface Electromyography, Temperature, Skin Conductance, Respiration and Heart Rate Variability as coping strategies to manage chronic pain. He obtained a certification as a Professional Bowenwork Practitioner in September of 2005. He describes his approach to Bowenwork to his patients in the following way…”In all my years of manual training and practice on working with movement restrictions and muscle imbalances including, stretching, mobilizing, thrusting, contracting/relaxing, accupressure, neural tissue tension, massage, etc. Bowenwork has proven to be as effective or better than any technique but with significantly less stress or pain to the patient.”
