Associate Instructor
Susan J. Tveit
Since she began this journey in 2001 after ending a career in film and commercials, Bowenwork excites Susan in ways that often leave one speechless. Watching the faces of her clients who, when they finish a session, feel changes happening they become elated. The unwinding, tingling, or warmth where there previously was none are milestones. More than once she has gotten a phone call from a client saying “I don’t know what you did, but I haven’t felt this good in a long time.” Each and every time she’s grateful and realizes just how fascinating Bowenwork continues to be.
Susan has often been told she has a knack for teaching. As a child in school, she’s always had difficulty learning and connecting the dots or making that light bulb flicker. Teaching the way she’s learned has worked for her. Utilizing analogies and everyday verbal explanations coupled with visual references makes comprehending easier. Props often help in demonstrating pieces and parts of the whole and why things work the way they do. Trying to achieve those ‘ah ha’ moments when teaching that will last are achievements for both student and teacher.
